header.php and meta_tags.php do not seem to be drawing from my custom folder

Hi
i had followed the making of a custom folder
my header.php is drawing from the english/header.php
my meta_tags are the same i had rewritten those 2 files and placed in 1 in
language/custom/header.php
and other in
language/english/custom/meta_tags

i must be misunderstanding the custom template idea

Re: header.php and meta_tags.php do not seem to be drawing from my custom folder

/includes/languages/english.php
/includes/languages/custom/english.php

/includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php
/includes/languages/english/custom/meta_tags.php

Overrides are designed to be 1 level down from where the are by default ...

You will see a /classic directory where you can use override files ...

Put your directory on that same level as /classic
/includes/languages/english.php
/includes/languages/classic
/includes/languages/custom/english.php

/includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php
/includes/languages/english/classic
/includes/languages/english/custom/meta_tags.php

/includes/languages/english/header.php
/includes/languages/english/classic/header.php
/includes/languages/english/custom/header.php

The /custom will run before the default thus overriding it ...

i changed one word in both of the files in custom and it is not using these.

It should work. Try refreshing... go to your site and then hit F5 for pc if your using a mac Command 5.
see if that works.
One other thing make sure you have the Quote marks
ie 'Welcome to'
define('HEADER_SALES_TEXT', 'Welcome to');

if you don't have the Quote marks it will not work

Your template is in the directory:
/custom

Or is it in the directory:
/cUsTOm

The directory name is case sensative on all templates and override directories ...
