No emails being sent - have tried many configurations

I give up. I don't know what to do. I've gone through the FAQ and searched the site and tried all the suggestions.

On a customer's site (hosted through Siteground) NO emails will go through at all. I don't get customer confirmation, nothing. His email address is working and can receive normal email.

He has another ZC site on a different hosting server, it's working fine.

I've tried all the settings except smtp under email options. He should be able to use it set to sendmail, but that doesn't work, neither does PHP, etc. I tried setting them like my own personal site is set, nothing. I tried several different combinations of settings, nothing.

He's got Zen Cart 1.3.7.1
Siteground Linux account
Apache: 1.3.37 (Unix)
PHP: 5.0.5
MySQL: 5.0.27

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I don't host through Siteground, so maybe there's something I'm missing that's particular to them?

Re: No emails being sent - have tried many configurations

THANK YOU! I love you Kobra!

It was the second article (I don't remember seeing that one earlier) that did it.

I had to set BOTH sendmail-f AND the known domain to yes. Apparently I never tried the known domain, or if I did, I didn't try it WITH the sendmail-f setting. I swear I tried a ton of setting configurations and must have placed at least 20 test orders. He says he started getting the last 5 or so, but it wasn't until the final one that I finally got a confirmation from the server.

Thanks!

Re: No emails being sent - have tried many configurations

I have tried everything too and the second article did not seem to help my host is adamant that there is nothing wrong at their end. Will try them again but if anyone else can give me any ideas It would be much appreciated. my site is at https://www.bluejaysbodybitz.co.nz - not 100 % complete in form of meta tags etc as they are driving me mad but outside of this it is important that the email is working properly.

cheers:frusty:

Re: No emails being sent - have tried many configurations

I had looked at it but my host was adamant that everything was ok on their end at this stage so i just went through the bits that were significant in Zen Cart itsself. However I am starting to wonder - I think it may be the host so I will copy and past some stuff and get them to check and advise from there end before I go any further with swaping and changing settings - I can't even remember all that I have changed now.

thanks for the response. I do appreciate it will post how I get on.:frusty:

Re: No emails being sent - have tried many configurations

Rather than try random settings, simply ask your hosting co. 'What are your recommended settings for email, and what are the specific settings you require in my case?'

If those settings work, your problem is solved, if not, they must fix.

Re: No emails being sent - have tried many configurations

Thanks Chukl

I had already been on to them when your message came through - they have sorted 80% of it for me and it would appear that it is only the xtra.co.nz email extension that is not sending or receiving so they are working on this for me today - hopefully when I get home from full time job it will be sorted out.

thanks again
