Confused about order copy email

It suddenly dawned on me today that I am not clear about the order confirm that is emailed out. Here's what I previously thought was the standard system:

If "Send Emails" is selected in admin/email options, then

  1. Order confirm is emailed to the customer's email
  2. Order confirm is emailed to the store owner's email
  3. Order confirm is emailed to the email addresses listed in "Send Copy of Order Confirmation Emails To"

Is that correct? I am suddenly suspicious now that point 2 is incorrect, and that the order confirm is only emailed to the customer and to the "send copy to..." addresses. So in other words, if I want the store owner to receive a copy of the order confirm, then I need to list the store owner address in the "Send Copy of Order Confirmation Emails To..." section.

Simple and dumb question, but I am still wondering about this...
