PayPal transaction details grey box not displaying on admin orders pages

Running ZC 1.3.7.1 with most recent patches including PayPal patches.

And running PayPal IPN (not Express Checkout).

What could be the cause of the rectangular grey box containing PayPal transaction details to not appear on a specific customer order page in ZC admin. The order was for a download product. The order state comments on the same order admin page shows Paypal status as "completed" with a transaction ID and amount. But no grey box as is usual.

Logging into PayPal shows the transaction was completed.

A previous order today for the exact same downlaod product (same shipping method and also paid through PayPal) correctly displays the grey box.

Thinking it might be a callback notification delay or time out issue I waited for thirty minutes but no change. And jsut checked again and still no grey box. Something went burp.

But are not the details in order status comments and the Paypal transaction details in grey box derived from same source in ZC database?

Thank you for any ideas.

Re: PayPal transaction details grey box not displaying on admin orders pages

Further investigate shows this specific transaction does NOT display in the 'paypal' or 'paypal_Payment_status_history' tables.

But transactions does show in orders_status_history.

Attempting to run "view_stuck_paypal_orders.php" to view the possible "stuck" order but script appears to time out after first five lines. I suspect the script is not compatible with ZC 1.37?

Any ideas on how to "view" the stuck order notification. Thanks.

Re: PayPal transaction details grey box not displaying on admin orders pages

I failed to mention the shop is using PDT with PayPal IPN.

Are there any local logs made of PayPal callbacks/notification attempts or other communications between Zen Cart shop and PayPal?

And/or is an update available for the PayPal Stuck Orders Viewer (for Zen Cart 1.37)?

Hoping to capture the PayPal transaction info and somehow massage into the ZC database.

I've no idea why you're getting a timeout. All it does is read all the records in your "paypal_sessions" table and display their contents.
Perhaps you've got corruption in that table and need to run a repair and/or optimize?

If you enable PayPal debug logging, then yes you can view the communications logs.

Perhaps the data didn't get saved properly to the paypal-related tables when the order was completed.
I think I've seen that happen once but recall it being because the order was actually an Express Checkout order and the system was trying to pull IPN data on an EC transaction ... which won't work.

The grey box for EC transactions actually comes directly from PayPal via an API call.
For the IPN module it comes only from the paypal-related tables in your database.
