Download Product - out of stock

sigh -- I believe that I have everything set correctly, but when I test putting the download product in my cart I get the message:

Items marked *** are not in stock.

My settings:
Product:
product is free: no
product is virtual: no
always free shipping: no
quantity box shows: no
quantity min: 1
products quantity: 1

Option name: download
option value: pdf
the file name shows a green dot
/pub is 777

Not sure what else to do...

Try making products quantity: 100000

Thanks for your reply. My understanding from reading other posts is that for download products the quantity doesn't decriment, and so the value should be 1.

I did try setting it to 10000, and it still complains that the product is out of stock.

Downloads do not track stock unless incorrectly setup ... :eek:

3 Downloads NEVER go to the checkout_shipping unless the product is setup incorrectly ...

4 Downloads SHOULD be set to;
Product Quantity: 1
to avoid templating and layout issues on Sold Out products etc. that are based on products_quantity 0 ...

Make sure that the products_status is 1 or the green icon when looking at the Product in the Catalog/Product listing in the Admin ...

Make sure that both the Catalog and Admin are, in fact, using the same database, username and server in the two configure.php files:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

So any ideas on where I should looking for the incorrect setup? The product is set up as you describe... so do you suspect the issue might be with the attribute settings? I guess I'm trying to figure out what would be wrong to make it even check for stock...:huh: Thanks.

I don't - this is my first run at downloads.

May I suggest that you create a new one and see if the problems continue?

I removed the attributes, deleted the product, deleted the option value, and removed the option name.

I created a new product, a new (differently named) option name and value and incurred the same result.

I also set my cart back to the default template. Made no difference.

Could you please set the Product Quantity to 1 on the Download Product that you created ...

Does it work now?

NOTE: ordering this, regardless of number of times should never change the Product Quantity to anything else other than the 1 I am having you set this up with ...

Changing the quantity does nothing in terms of changing the error message when trying to add the product to my cart, 1 or 1000, it's the same. I do understand that setting should be configured at 1 - it is currently.

Stock by Attribute add-on is tracking stock on the Download Products and causing hissy fits ... :eek:

Once I got the stock setup and set to 10000 it is now working and will track the stock on the Downloads despite the normal settings ...

This now appears to be fixed ... :smartalec:

Would one of you zen wizards!!!! Please tell me in plain english how to set a product up for download. The Attributes i have set are
Delivery Method and the value is set at Download.
But that is as far as i got. I do have Image Handler installed and seems to give many optional window wizards.
I have Attribute Controller in my window along with Edit Product and products price manager. want to get this message before the server goes down for an hour:censored:
