Removing Site Map and other links

Ok, this should have been easy......but......i want to remove Site Map from my side box (as well as gift cert box since I dont offer those), so I went to the ez pages and deleted "site map".......nothing happened. It is still there.

I want to do a little overhaul on that particular side box and am not having any luck.....for instance...i want to change the name of the box from "information" to "Shop with confidence" and cant figure out how to do that either (sorry, I posted this same question on a much older thread earlier).

I am a goof ball when it comes to doing this stuff.....help please?

thanks!

Re: Removing Site Map and other links

i want to change the name of the box from "information" to "Shop with confidence"
Use the admin > tools > developers tool kit > enter "information" in the bottom left box all catalog files and search...english.php will be displayed along with

define('BOX_HEADING_INFORMATION', 'Information');

Change the text between the single quotes

Your other issue you need to make a copy of includes/modules/sideboxes/information.php and edit/comment out those that you do not want

Re: Removing Site Map and other links

Try adding your image in a copy of the file includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_information.php that you place in your template, where indicated

  }
  $content .= '</ul>' .  "\n";
  Add your content here
  $content .= '</div>';
?>

Re: Removing Site Map and other links

Hi Kobra,

I am sorry to be such a dunce.....i no NOTHING about code stuff.....here is what the includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_information.php looks like at the moment--(well part of it, I didnt paste all the top stuff). As you can see, I added the img src thingy at line 20. The text i put in works, just cant get the logo in right. And believe me, i added that ssl.gif to every danged image file I have everywhere.....LOL SO where did I go wrong?

$content = '';
$content .= '<div id="' . str_replace('_', '-', $box_id . 'Content') . '" class="sideBoxContent">';

// Replace the text and HTML tags between the apostophes on lines 19 and 20.
// Use as many or as few lines using this model as you need for your custom content.
// If you have a multilingual site define your text in the languages/YOUR_LANGUAGE/extra_definitions/blank_sidebox_defines.php and include it as shown in line 19.
// If your site is monolingual, you can put the text right here as shown on line 20 (and nobody will know!)
$content .= '<p>' . TEXT_BLANK_SIDEBOX . '</p>';
$content .= '<p><img src="ssl.gif"></p>';

$content .= '</div>';
?>

Re: Removing Site Map and other links

:oops:What i posted was from the blank sidebox module . After fussing around so long last night, i just decided to install the blank sidebox and put the logo in there. What i provided was from that set of files includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_blank_sidebox

if you want to go to the shopping cart, what I have done is the last sidebox to the right (https://www.mooncavecrystals.com/shopping) I am sorry, i am sooooo lost :(

Re: Removing Site Map and other links

ok, sorry :(

I decided instead of trying to put the image in the information side box as originally planned (and asked for), that I would add the blank sidebox module and put the icon image there.

So, I have installed the blank sidebox module. The box is now entitled 100% Safe and Secure. I added text to the box to explain about the certificate.
Now what I need to know is what code to use in order to make the image show up.

I have added the actual image to pretty much every image folder I can find (one of them has to work right? :) So what I am looking for is the string of code and where to put it using the blank sidebox module folders (I believe the correct one is includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_information.php) since it said I could add images, html, etc on line 20.

make sense??

Re: Removing Site Map and other links

If you view this in IE you get the dreded red X - and the properties for it are:
http://www.mooncavecrystals.com/images/ssl.gif

Try or insure that this image is spelled correctly (caps count) and in your /images directory

Re: Removing Site Map and other links

can i start crying now? LOL

i dont even have a folder like that.....which makes sense why there is an X

How i usually upload is by going to my server.and logging on to unlimited ftp...clicking on public_html, then Shopping (which is where all my zen cart stuff is) then.....heck I dont know...i have uploaded the ssl.gif to every folder everywhere it says images....i may have to wave the white flag on this on......it is so simple and I am just not getting it at all. :cry:
