PayPal IPN - the best way?

HI There
Having used this before a while ago, I was wondering what the best way forward is for adding a contribution which allows the status to be altered within zen cart once payment has gone through?

I have seen this thread:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=390776#post390776

Is this the LATEST version of what I need?
it doesn't say if this is ALL the files I need OR just replacement files for a contrib placed elsewhere that I may have missed...

is there a best practise for this sort of thing? I don't want anything too complicated just something which effectively manages paypal payments and changes status as needed

Many Thanks

Samantha

Re: PayPal IPN - the best way?

When using the PayPal IPN module and having properly-configured communication from PayPal back to your server, the order-status will be updated based on transaction changes happening on the PayPal end.

The patch you mentioned is already built-in to v1.3.7.1.
