Can Zen Cart be my Wishlist?

I am creating a website for my retail store (no ecommerce). I want customers to be able to add items they like from my inventory to a cart. Once they finish they can print the list from the cart out and bring it to the store.

Basically it is a Wishlist or Shopping cart (without the ecommerce).

Can your plugin do this for me? If so how?

Any help you could provide would be really appreciated.

Zen Cart is not a plugin. It's a complete solution. You might be able to do what you want by putting Zen Cart in "showcase" mode, but I'm not certain about that since I haven't used it that way.

I apologize for misunderstanding about the "plugin" I plan to use Zencart for Wordpress and I was wondering if and how I could use it as a Wishlist?

Do you want to display products and prices to the customers or just products?

There is a shipping method called "store pickup". You could make that the only shipping method you use (so no actual shipping) and use COD as the payment method (so you're not accepting payments online). You'd get a copy of the order and could have it waiting for the customer to pick up.

The only problem I see is that you'll be restricted to your area. You'll have to make it clear on your site that the merchandise has to be picked up (no shipping available).

I'll back up Mary Ellen by saying that this would work excellently for your stated functional goal - actually even better than you asked for, since you would have advance notice of what the customer would have on their list.

That's what I was thinking, Glenn. It could improve customer service if the orders are ready to be picked up (or nearly so) when the customer shows up at the store.
