Cardservice-Linkpoint vs Paypal fees-CC trans action

if you exceed $3000 the month prior-
Paypal is 2.5% + $.30.
exceed $10k and it is 2.2%.

Cardservice/Linkpoint
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=infopages&pages_id=30
there fee is always 2.39% + $.25

Do I have this correct?

How hard would it be to change from one to the other once I know my monthly volume estimates?

Re: Cardservice-Linkpoint vs Paypal fees-CC trans action

You mean FDIC insured, reporting interest to the IRS, etc?

Would that be Paypal? Should I go through Bank of America?
I didn't know that volume would be an issue. I will be selling 1080p flat screen TVs ranging from $1400-$6300 each.
I am startled by the above response, although I really APPRECIATE it!

You need to do some comparisons, not only of rates ( they are negotiable) but also of service.

Re: Cardservice-Linkpoint vs Paypal fees-CC trans action

I am comparing funds availability, report generation, and transaction fees.

Any other points to compare?

On the technical end, switching from one to the another is usually pretty simple.
However, setting up an account with a different vendor can be time-consuming and sometimes incur fees (not in the case of the two you mention, but with some other vendors there are application/signup fees etc).

You can always negotiate rates and terms provided you can substantiate your claims. If you need time to build a history record, say so, and then renegotiate next quarter or something. Companies want your business, and are usually willing to do what it takes to get it.

It won't hurt to do the online Cardservices application and then negotiate with the rep when they contact you back.

Thats a good idea. I will do that. Thanks to all. For now I am Paypal IPN and COD (I am still local delivery of the goods).
