Need Help Removing Logo.Gif and "Sales Message Goes Here"

thx, i followed the instructions in the article and it got rid of the.gif, but now im left with a big black area that i'd like to get rid of. at https://www.sheisme.org its right under home log in and search. how do i get rid of this black area?

change the declaration in your stylesheet.css as indicated by the highlighted portion
