"Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

Kim:

Kim -

Your site is set up to not go to the shopping cart page after you add something to the cart, correct?

Thank you for responding Kim. The site is suppose to take you back to shopping after you put something in the cart. It does when I switch to the classic template. This happened after I upgraded. I am thinking I did not change a file to my template. I just can't seem to find the file name.

Thanks.

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

Kim:

I am not sure of the 'why', but if you use the link in the header of your shopping cart sidebox instead of the 'edit cart' link to access the shopping cart page then hit the 'continue shopping' the cart goes to the home page.

not sure what you mean. This happens when you add to the cart. then go to shopping cart page. At the bottom of the cart, there is a back to shopping button. When you click the back to shopping cart button, it gives a "page not found" error page.

Hi Kim,

It has been a long time and I still can not get this issue resolved.
Wondering if maybe you ran across something or could help in some way.:frusty::frusty:

The broken link is not good for site business.

When you are at individual product page, click add to cart, then use sidebox and click edit cart. Now at shopping cart page. If click
on back to shopping button - takes to error page.

Thanks,

I just re-did it again and still giving me error. I even hit f5/refresh for each page.

Could it be my browser? I am using I.E.7.

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

Ah yes, I am getting it now.

However, when I look at the link being generated for that button, it's pointing to the "page not found" page. So this is a problem specific to changes that have been to your site, either by you, or by mods that you have added.

If you've not been making any changes yourself, what mods are you using? and where did you templates come from (as it seems to be specific to that)?

I just had CEON load the product type book module for me.

I wonder if it has anything to do it.

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

possum:

I've found an answer to this problem.

I updated line 982 of /includes/functions/functions_general.php which read

if (sizeof($_SESSION['navigation']->path)-2 > 0) {

>
> to
>
> ```
 if (sizeof($_SESSION['navigation']->path)-1 > 0) {

Now I'm returning to the product list from the checkout when I go directly there from the product list page (without going to product info). I haven't found anything that this breaks yet. I'll update this post if I do.

Cheers,

Possum

I tried this and still does not take me back. Only takes me to page not found.

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

My includes/template/template name/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php looks like this.

<!--bof shopping cart buttons-->
<div class="buttonRow forward"><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CHECKOUT, BUTTON_CHECKOUT_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>
<div class="buttonRow back"><?php echo zen_back_link() . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CONTINUE_SHOPPING, BUTTON_CONTINUE_SHOPPING_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>
<?php
// show update cart button
  if (SHOW_SHOPPING_CART_UPDATE == 2 or SHOW_SHOPPING_CART_UPDATE == 3) {
?>
<div class="buttonRow back"><?php echo zen_image_submit(ICON_IMAGE_UPDATE, ICON_UPDATE_ALT); ?></div>
<?php
  } else { // don't show update button below cart
?>
<?php
  } // show update button
?>
<!--eof shopping cart buttons-->

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

I am still stuck on this one!:frusty:

Can someone tell me how to get where the link to the button is located - maybe I can figure it out that way. At this point, the button links to http://www.burnerbooks.com/index.php?main_page=page_not_found instead of main page.

Shopping cart page
http://www.burnerbooks.com/index.php?main_page=shopping_cart

Thanks, Kim

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

Please could I have some help ...

On my shopping cart cart page is a "continue shopping" button ...
when clicked it goes to the sitemap and shows page not
found

I recently had my zen cart upgraded from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9h and
have had fast and easy checkout installed. Im not sure if this
button is part of the 1.3.9h install or introduced by fast and easy checkout but Id just like it to perform as standard when clicked.

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

I cannot reproduce the problem in a clean Zen Cart install of v1.3.9h ...

What happens if you change to the Classic Template? :unsure:

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

When selecting Classic it still keeps showing my own template which is a modification of the original SWSClassic.

I tried a selection of the other templates and it does some strange
things. I started out with 2 items in my shopping cart and when I
first clicked on "continue shopping" it went into the product details
of the 1st item in the cart. I deleted the 1st product and it still kept going into these 1st products details.

On one of the other carts it alternated between the behavior above and showing the sitemap and page not found. Even though the 1st product was no longer in the cart. At no time did it go near the 2nd product.

My website is https://www.tidytoys.co.uk

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

I set "Enable SEO Url's" from true to false.

Tried the "continue shopping" button and it still displays
page not found and goes to the sitemap page

I wondered if I should clear out all the seo caches, so I did this then ...

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

Are you seeing any debug logs in the /cache directory?

Re: "Back to Shopping" always goes back to homepage

I had to clear out the log file so I could get to see the latest logs.

There is nothing for today that appears to be related to clicking on the "continue shopping" button only problems with clearing the cache
