Is there a way to NOT approve Gift Certificate?

Hi,

Is there a way to NOT approve Gift Certificate? For example, if a customer buys it, sends a check and it doesn't clear? When I click to GIFT Queue button, all I see is the Release Gift button. I don't have anything like "delete order" or "decline certificate".

OK, I know that I have the option not to release it, but will I see the button there forever??

Nothing? I guess I will have to live with the Release Gift button forever :) :) :)

For now ... you could mark the record for this customer in the coupon_gv_queue as release_flag X where this will not show in the queue but still be there should you need to reference it later ...

The Gift Certificates will be updated in a future release for more flexibility while maintaining proper tracking to protect you from yourself in deleting Gift Certificates or altering amounts in an account etc. :smile:

This is a table in your database which you can access via phpMyAdmin from your Control Panel of your domain ...

NOTE: always make a good backup of your database before fooling with things you know nothing about ... :cool:

We had a Product and its code was GIFT_XXXX, This generated a gift Coupon in the queue to be redeemed.

The X in the release_flag has done the trick for now.

Also now that I know from previous forum posts that GIFT is used for Gift Coupons I have fixed some product codes.

Knew it was worth searching the forums.
