My webmaster screwed me

Not sure if this is doable but is there a way to use the SQL Patch feature and get it to do a data dump to screen that you could cut and paste into a text editor?

the sql editor just sends info out, wont let it be pulled back out

but if you search for a backup script there is one that you can upload using ftp that will let you run it and it will send a copy of the DB to your email

I agree with Glenn. My first thought is that you rightfully own that information. You paid to harvest it in terms of advertising and development fees. It sounds like he's stealing your property, plain and simple.

Maybe someone mentioned this, but if you have access to the admin section then you can write to the define pages and you can put a script in here that does a db dump to the screen for you. Cut paste, data recovered.

Does that count as a security risk ( That is a big yes :smile: )

why not just enter the code onto the homepage to extract it all?

there is a cupple o things you need a general brushup to do that.

you can obtain the MYSQL result of the query by echoing it in php.
this is already ready to be setup on a new database if done right.

the commands for mysql are

"select * from * "

the real problem is that EVEN to do that you need database password and location.
the host is localhost fopr sure, but you still need to crank something up for it in some way.

it would really help if you had access to some php files and a way to upload them. which you could ask the host to put up for you.

afterall the domain is registered to YOUR email right?

run a whois on the server, see if you can find out the hosing company for it. it will most likely give you a number to cantact.
as far as the "webmaster" goes, you can actually sue him in a smallclaims court if this is really the situation.
you paid him for a service he did not provide, and on top of that he stole your work. a judge will not see kindly to that, solong as you did not pay the guy in cash.

So what you are saying is that if he has full read access to the database and full write access to the hosting account, then he has full read access to the database and full write access to the hosting account. You make a valid point.

Do you owe the host for your hosting fees? I can see him locking you out if you haven't paid. Many web hosters do this if fees are behind.

There is NO excuse for him stealing your site and posting it as his own though..
