Single product displayed big on main page

Hey, I've been looking for a while now, trying to work out how to have single products display in a seperate "centerbox" on my index page. I havent found out a way to do it. I've tried reducing the specials box to 1 product per row, however its not ideal, it also dosent make the item display bigger or give you the item description.

On sites like https://www.ebuyer.com you can see they have single products on the main page and i think it looks really good. So if you know how to do it that would be great.

There are several ways to do this....Do myou want only one product on the main page? Do you want it to change automatically?
So on and so forth???

Hey i'd like it to be the specified products. But id want to have more than 1 item displayed but in seperate boxes. Like on ebuyer. i.e

Product 1 Product2

Product3 Product4

all in their own boxes. If you can do this, there is no need to make it random.

Style a layout (large image and description) for featured products, and mark products as "featured" to display them on homepage.

When you write "style a layout", is that done with a CSS editor, or through the admin controls? Thanks

Mostly using CSS, but you do have to wrap the content in DIV (or span, p etc..) tags to be able to style them.

Nimbuz not exactly sure what you mean. When you say upload a big image. Dosent It auto resize in zen cart?

BTW i like some parts of your site. How do you get the bigger spacing in your categorys box. How did you add that hover effect without it all moving and how did you add the image to the sub categorys.

I didn't say "upload" a bigger image, a bigger image is required but thats not it, you do have to design a layout for featured products yourself.
