Ticket / Reservation Mod for Super Orders

Hi all,
Time to give back.

A number of people have been wondering how to use zen cart to sell reservations and tickets for events such as concerts, conferences, movies, etc. Like others on this forum, I first thought of going the barcode route or making sure that each order contains the names of all who will attend but neither of these is optimal for the small business that hired me.

So I modded Super Orders to generate a 'Door List' which contains basic information about the person plus a product attribute named 'passkey' which the buyer selects upon purchasing. That way, you can card the purchaser at the door, and if he or she can't make it to the event, they can 'pass' the key down to a friend and they can gain entry. The report is sorted alphabetically by name.

The solution is ideal for small to medium sized events, I think. It requires no investments in equipment and is robust.

Warning: this mod has been tested only with Super Orders Version 2.0 and contains ONE OVERWRITE. It replaces the file super_batch_forms.php in /catalog/admin and adds the file super_door_list.php to the same directory. Note also that you have to manually add a required attribute called 'passkey' to every event ticket you create.

I'll be interested to find out how this would work for people out there.

trying to install this mod, and it is just not showing up anywhere. i think there should be an installation directions. looking forward for it a lot!

Hi again,
i´m glad i can give something back to the community and tell you how this mod works. After struggling with the code (thought the problem was there) I found it.
Actually it plugs right in with just those two files in the package. But it took me a hour to figure out where it shows and how it works.

Installation:

• Upload both files to admin folder. There is one owerwrite.
• Create a option name, as Text, and name it "passkey".
• Create a product/event/ticket and give it the attribute Passkey.
• Go to (in admin) to Customer --> Batch Form Print and choose the product you want a doorlist on.
  Down to the left check the radiobutton Doorlist, and Check all and print!!

Hi I install this mod and I didn't get the passkey in the doorlist report. Can someone help how to achieve this? I really need this. Thanx in advance

Any luck here. Im about to set this up, but dont want to waste the effort if it doesnt quite work.

I have installed the Ticket / Reservation Mod for Super Orders, but when I print the door list out the qty is wrong. My product is using price by attribute and a customer is able to buy multiple types of tickets.

For example, if I buy one adult and one child ticket, the door list only lists a qty of one.

Any ideas how to fix this?

This whole thread is making my head spin, I don't get the passkey thing sorry .....doesn't every order of any product on zen cart send an email to customer to confirm their purchase? Why couldn't that just be used as a ticket- no-one can copy it because it has their name on it?
