Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

As above. Just finished setting everything up(install, databases etc) and when it says 'goto shop' it comes up with 404 error.

The current main directories are:

CPanel
Trash
Public_HTML

Do I need to move a directory or is this normal?

Also, should the permissions for ALL files and folders be set to 755 or not?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

Re: Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

you need to point your root folder to Public_HTML- Do this in configure.php in includes/

Let me know if you need more detail

I've got the file open, just need to know what to change...

define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'none');
define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/XXXX/public_html/cache');

I have 'XXXX' out any sensitive info

Re: Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

Hi Bob you need to set the configure.php as exactly as it is pointing to your root folder

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)
//the following path is a COMPLETE path to your Zen Cart files. eg: /var/www/vhost/accountname/public_html/store/

Here

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/XXXX/public_html/');

Re: Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

Hi,

I couldn't figure out the complete path so tried /store/ on the end and now it comes up with the index when I open the website.

have also tried /zencart/ and /zen_cart/ with the same result.

I installed the original software from this site.

Cheers,

Bob

Re: Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

Try setting the following define to 'localhost':

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', 'localhost/');

if that fails try:

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', 'public_HTML/THE NAME OF YOUR ZENCART FOLDER/');

Re: Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

Hi Andrew,

I will try that now, thanks.

As far as I can remember/see the folders are all just dumped into public_html, hasnt got its own Zen folder.

Cheers,

Bob

Re: Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

I think what I did was to name the folder 'catalog' but didn't put it in 'public_html' so I then moved all the folders into 'public_html' and deleted the empty 'catalog' folder.

Have tried lots of combinations now.

Any way of checking what it should be?

Cheers,

Bob

Re: Just sucessfully install Zen Cart but can't view the webpage

Bob what ever your user name for your sever will have to go where I have the x marks at down below with out the www. Just your use name. Most Linux server are set like I have it below to you root folder. That is only and example. If you can not figure it out email you host for the direct path to the root folder.

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)
//the following path is a COMPLETE path to your Zen Cart files. eg: /var/www/vhost/accountname/public_html/store/
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/content/d/a/r/xxxxxxx/html/');
