Big X on MySQL

Hi, Im somewhat of a rookie, I get a red X on the Zencart Inspection Page for MySQL Support. I am running Xampp with MYSQL version 6, both apache and mysq services are running, any help is appreicated.

A big red X suggests that MySQL isn't accessible from PHP.

I just installed MySQL 6 alpha on a test server, and Zen Cart runs fine on it.
The problem must be with your PHP+MySQL configuration on your server.
