Is it Possible to add a small gif to description?

Hi Folks, Mr Thicky here:smile: I have an idea to run a Christmas promotion based on an advent calender. My idea is to add a small gif image (christmas related) to a different product each day, each product that has the gif in the description will offer a special discount or free gift. I know how to add pictures but can't find anything about adding a gif to the description itself. Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome. I want to make sure the image does not appear in the new products section as I want people to search around the site to find the special offer.

Cool idea! Try adding this to your product description. I just tested it and it worked. :smile:

<img src="images/yourimage.gif" width="999" height="999">

Of course, adjust the image directory, name and size as needed.

HiMary Ellen, thanks for the quick response. I assume that /images is a valid Zen directory and that I need to use that ftp thingy to copy the image I want in to that directory? I'm not very good at software so your help is really appreciated.

Yes, the images folder is standard Zen Cart and you can FTP your images into it. That bit of HTML should do the trick for you.

Hi again, thanks Mary Ellen, that works fine. Now what I would really like to do is to have the same image appear on my home page so that people can click on it and be taken straight to the EZ page that has all the info about my promotion. I think I need to use href but don't know where to link to as the EZ pages are stored in the database (I think?).
Can anybody help with this one?

If you want to href an easy page you could use

yourdomain.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=10&chapter=10

For Id = 10 and chapter is 10. The best way to get the link is to make the easy
page then activate it on a side box. Right click the link from your browser and copy the link location. You can remove the lengthy end of the link taking out the zenid= section..

Yeah, that should work nicely. ALWAYS remove the zenid= section of the url.

:clap: It does indeed do the trick rather nicely. I just tested a simple gif that appears in the main page and allows a linbk through top the EZ pages where the promotion is explained. Thanks guys, I like it here :smile:
