Zencart on established site

I downloaded Zencart, added SSL to my site and set up my store, and then figured out that Zencart is meant to be a standalone site, and not added to an already established site. I had wanted it to run on https://www.mysite.com/store/etc. Is there any way to do this?

Re: Zencart on established site

NO its not just a cart that you link to. It is its own complete website!

Well, though Zencart is a standalone cart, you can certainly install it in a different directory, and call it from a link on your original site.

Making Zencart look like your original site is the hard part.

Re: Zencart on established site

I don't mind that it doesn't match my other pages exactly. I'm assuming I would just rename the entire ZC directory as "store". Am I on the right track? Thanks for any help.

Correct..but you would also need to alter the two config files to reflect
this directory change for your zencart install..

You won't be able to list products on your website and use Zen Cart as a shopping cart only, but you certainly can put Zen Cart in its own directory and link to it from your main site.

The Fan Odyssey site in my sig used to be set up that way. I recently changed it to be the main site, but it does work from its own directory.

Yeah, you can do it. I did it for someone recently. I just took the template from their existing site and applied it to the zen cart, and made changes to the CSS. Now on their main site they have a link for "Store" and when a user goes into the cart it still looks the same (header/footer from original still there).

Your other option is migrate the static site pages from the existing site into zencart using EZ-Pages.

I used EZ-Pages when I swapped the Fan Odyssey store from a folder to the root to replace the old site. I converted some of the old content into EZ-Pages. It's not a bad option.
