Quick Order from Previous Orders

Hi

Would like a way for a sidebox to list previous items ordered by a customer when they are logged in.

Aim is to make it easy for a customer to 'order' a regular item as quickly as possible.

Eventually I would like a button next to the item that says 'buy with prepaid voucher' and it checks to balance, says thank you very much and orders the item!!

Wanted the order box to remember the attributes that a customer uses as well.

You could start with the built-in "order_history" sidebox, which you can enable in the Admin->Tools->Layout Boxes Controller area.
It provides links to previously-purchased items and add-to-cart icon, but does not preselect any attributes etc.

Two years Ive been using this system and I find the right box about 2 mins after posting.

So you hard would it be to adapt this sidebox to show a 'complete' product?

I don't have an answer but would also be interested if someone has a solution for this.

I am trying to learn code but my day job is running the cafe I own and that takes my time.

Given that this sidebox retrieves previous orders based on Product ID, can I take it that the ability would be there to retrieve the associated Attrib IDs from the database and pre-populate the order.

Background:

Customer orders a coffee with 2 sugars, skimmed milk, large and caramel syrup EVERYTIME.

Would like a quick way for them to just go - same again please!

Maybe a custom product that they can save in the database would be a way forward. i.e. nickname the product Steve Coffee and the database knows the attribs.

Sorry if I ramble, I have the Ideas but not the skills!
