Attribute was not added/Attribute Option and Option Value do not match

This is SO confusing! I am reading and reading and just do not get what each of these three areas of settings are for.

I am trying to do my first simple test product and continue to get this error:

Attribute Option and Option Value Do NOT Match - Attribute was not added - : TEXT

Please help!

Re: Attribute was not added/Attribute Option and Option Value do not match

I figured it out!

I was trying to add the file name from the wrong screen.

I was adding the attributes, then going back to add the file names.

I see now that I have to edit the attributes and add the file name there.

Re: Attribute was not added/Attribute Option and Option Value do not match

So, now that I've got it changed correctly, it works when testing it anew, but how do I get the purchase to work that I purchased before I had it fixed?

Re: Attribute was not added/Attribute Option and Option Value do not match

TEXT attributes are created by going to:

Option Name Manager

Add a Name for the TEXT Option Name and select TEXT from the Option Type dropdown and click INSERT ...

There isn't an Option Value created for the Option Names that are Option Type TEXT ... this is built in, by default, in the products_options_values table for you ...

Next, go to the Attributes Controller and find the Category then the Product that you want to add this TEXT Attribute to ...

Select the Option Name that you created and for the Option Value select the Option Value labeled as:
TEXT [RESERVED FOR TEXT/FILES ONLY ATTRIBUTES]

That's all there is to it ...

Delete it and re-add it to your cart ...
