categories always shows main page

When I click on the category link for a category that has two sub categories, it takes me to the main page. The link shows it is going to the category path that I want i.e. 14 but then it just loads the main page.

All I want it to do is go to the main category when it is click on like it should. Any idea why it is ignoring the main category link but will work if I click on the subcategory?

You could have a bad file on the server ...

Or, you have Products mixed in with Categories ... Categories hold Products or Categories but never both ...

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

Is this a clean Install or an Upgrade?

How did you install? How did you Upgrade?

Have you an URL that we can perhaps peek at?

If you switch to the Classic Template does it work? If so, then there is a problem with your templates and overrides ...

Behavior is the same in classic

See if you have the Always Show on Main Page on and an invalid categories_id on the:

Main Page - Opens with Category
0= Top Level Categories
Or enter the Category ID#
Note: Sub Categories can also be used Example: 3_10

in the Configuration ... Layout Settings ...

set to 0....

If you have that turned on, and have it set to 0 ... it does not make a lot of sense that this isn't working ...

Try switching to Classic Template ...

When I force cPath to be 0 I see the Top Level categories ...
