How do I add an attractive newsletter sign-up page?

How do I add an attractive newsletter sign-up page? I know this is done by creating an account, but I'd like to promote the newsletter with a prominent link to a "Sign up for our newsletter" page. That page would discuss the benefits of the newsletter and then link visitors to the "create an account" page. Please advise. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Okay. And what if I want to add an icon to the right sidebox area? I can create the EZ page, but how do I put an icon in the right sidebox that links to the EZ page?

Thanks,
John
