Paypal payment making customers go through steps twice

It is actually working as it should. If you have any thing that can be used to reduce or increase the total, they will have to go through the process again to capture the gains or reductions to the total. (ie coupons, optional insurance or credit balance, ect).

That is why I don't use PP express anymore. Too many abandoned carts. The more options you have or more clicks they have to make the better the chance of them leaving your site.

No one single customer has completed the Paypal shopping but some of them have asked via phone or email why an earth your payments are not working?!

Extremely confusing to run the Ordering processes many times!

To me this sounds like a bug, no matter if it "should be like this or not".
The strange thing is that when I installed Paypal for first time, it went through at once without any repeated order steps.

We were testing and it didn't work with those steps twice either.
It just keeps repeating, and no payment gets registered and nothing happens.
This is by the way still 1.3.7... was there some patch for this Paypal Express?
Can't upgrade for 1.3.8 now!

This can't be the way it's supposed to work, because it just... doesn't.
What customer wants to go through the steps again thinking they're going to get charged again? It's obv a bug. :frusty:

I'm going to try reinstalling the module without turning any others on first.

still having no luck with this, when the customer has selected paypal as payment method (well, it's the only payment method so it's not really selecting) they're taken to the confirm page, on clicking confirm they're then taken to the paypal login page where they then login, select where the funds are coming from, and then they're redirected back to the store page at step 2 again.

Very confusing.

Does this happen for all products? Could you post a listing of all the settings used on your product page, obviously price, desc, etc. not needed.
