order received in paypal but not in zc

One of my customers had stopped seeing the orders in the cart but was getting notices of payments. I upgraded to 1.3.8. I checked paypal settings. I finally placed an order at paypal.

BINGO. I think this is a paypal change that has just recently happened. Once the order is placed and the browser shows payment received, it also has a notice that if the buyer isn't redirected in 10 - 10 - seconds to click here. I waited and let it redirect - do you know how long 10 seconds is to wait? - and the order showed up in zen cart. The next time I placed an order, instead of redirecting, I closed the browser window. And there it was. No order.

So the wait for auto return isn't working the same as it did before (that's assuming I am remembering correctly.)

Right off the top of my head, a help would be to post instructions in your custom header that states to be sure to click to return to the site to finish your order. I've done this before when Paypal moved it's cc option to so far down the page that no one saw it anymore. Just make a graphic with logo and instructions and create or change your custom payment pages.

I dont believe it is paypal that has changed, because for me it does work even if we dont wait 10 seconds.

For the problem was the ultimate seo mod version 3.0RC. The problem was caused by a modified html_output.php file.

Well, not the case with my client. Image attached that we are using. I do have auto return turned on but it is now 10 secs of wait and not an immediate return.

I applied the pushorder patch, but when I click "Move to Database Button" I sends me to a 404 Page Not Found. I have set the secret word in my definitions file and the page is in the store root. Am I missing something some where?

Same thing happened to me. My Zen Cart is in domain.com/shop/ so I had to go through the files and adjust the paths for a few things. that should fix it for you, if your shop isn't in the root.

I know one was pushorder.php. I just opened all of the files and did a search for the page names that came up on the error page when I tried to run the plugin. There aren't many files and there isn't a ton of code to wade through. took 5 min.

I just wanted to thank everybody in this thread, esp Dr Byte and Delia. Your posts helped me sort out the issue (paypal) and I have a ticket in to sort it out. In the meantime, I used the plugin that was recommended and helped me client figure out what orders still needed to be filled. Interestingly, enough, a number of the orders in the "stuck" queue (about 60 of them) were duplicates.

I'm glad this happened. I have a small shop on another site with another cart (which is evil and shall not be named) and had the same problem with paypal just last night. Of course, their support is non existent and their knowledge base has no report of this problem. I dug around in the database and can't find the order. I think I'm switching carts REAL soon.
