Disabling the New Products box

I am trying to temporarily disable the New Products box on the index page. I figured that there was some option to turn this off in the Admin area but I can't seem to find it. I read some other Threads that suggested changing the dates in the database, but this is not going to be practical for this site.

Admin->Configuration->Index Listing ... the numbers for the different options are sort orders. Setting to 0 disables the option.
