Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

Hi all,

I've finally got this contribution packaged up and ready to go! I've tested it with Zen Cart v1.3.8 and it works perfectly. It should work on older versions too, but make sure you test thoroughly before going live.

Here's a brief description of the contribution:

This module allows you to use the Internet Secure Merchant Direct Gateway to process credit card transactions on your website. By using this module, your customers will not have to leave your website at all during the transaction. They will enter their credit card details right on the payment screen of your store. Their credit card will then be processed in real time when they click the Confirm Order button. If their card is declined, they will be taken back to the payment screen with an error message. If their card is approved, they will see the checkout success page and you will receive an order notification.

This module also allows you to process Interac Online transactions via the Internet Secure Merchant Link Gateway. The customer chooses Interac Online as their payment option, and once they click the Confirm Order button, they will be sent to the Interac Online website to continue with their payment.

Link to the download: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=817

Please feel free to post with any questions or suggestions.

Enjoy!

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

Hi Danielle,
Thanks very much for this important contribution.

One question. Is there any MAJOR difference between this module and the Authorize.net AIM which I've been able to install and works perfectly with internetsecure?

Thanks again.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

Nope :) It's basically the same, this one will be easier for anyone who doesn't have the Auth.net AIM already working, but if you do then there is really no reason to switch. If you want to use Interac Online then you could install just that portion of the mod.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

I installed the module and I enabled both the US and Canadian modules. When I go to checkout it has both credit card fields up there. Is there a way for it to display just one depending on if you are from the US or Canada?

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

This also brings up the question....Do I even need to have both a US and Canadian merchant account? Can I just use a Canadian account and still accept credit cards from the US?

Yes, this is briefly explained in the readme file, but you have to set up zones for your store and assign each module to the correct zone. I have a US zone which includes all of the US and a CAD zone which includes all of Canada. Once you've set up your zones, in Modules-Payments, find the payment module you want and click Edit, then choose the applicable zone from the dropdown box.

This also brings up the question....Do I even need to have both a US and Canadian merchant account? Can I just use a Canadian account and still accept credit cards from the US?

Yes, you definitely can. The only difference is that with a US merchant account, the customers card will be charged in US funds, so it will be the exact same amount as shown on the invoice from your store. With a CAD merchant account, your US customers are billed in CAD, which is then converted to US by their credit card company. The conversion is done at the next days exchange rate, so this means that the amount actually charged to their card can vary slightly from the amount shown on your store invoice. It shouldn't vary by too much though, sometimes it will be a few cents more, sometimes a few cents less.

It's really not a huge issue, but if you start to do a lot of US transactions then you might want to look at having the multi-currency merchant account.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

I'm assuming no one here is using the Interac Online portion of this mod because no one has reported any issues, but I have uploaded a new version of the mod to the downloads section which fixes a bug in the Interac Online module. You need the new version if you are using Interac Online.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

Hi,

I believe I've installed this module correctly, however testing the INTERAC online module returns an error from InternetSecure. My account is live, and I believe my admin settings are set correctly too (Enable set to true, payment zone set to none, CAD merchant ID set to my CAD merchant acct #). The credit card portion seems to work fine. Any ideas would be appreciated. The return error I am getting is posted below. Thanks in advance.

We cannot process your transaction.
You are reading this page because one of the following errors has occurred
Cannot find one or any of these variables: MerchantNumber, Products, ReturnURL or ReturnCGI
The MerchantNumber is not valid.
The Merchant does not have an active account in the requested currency.
The Products string is not in a recognizable format.
Please notify the merchant about this error. Thank you.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

I seemed to make the INTERAC module work by hardcoding my merchant ID# within the file includes/modules/payment/internetsecure.php even though my merchant ID# was setup properly in the payment module within the admin. Does this make sense? Is there a `proper' way to make this module work, or is that it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

Open this file in your php editor:

includes/modules/payment/internetsecure.php

Go to line 81 or so, and you will see the statement:

$merchant_ID = 1;

Replace the 1 (or whatever number is listed there) with your merchant ID number issued by InternetSecure. This worked for me however I'm still not sure why this value didn't change to my merchant ID number when set in the admin section.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

Does this handle the VBV codes as required by Internet Secure. Its to do with handling Verified by VISA as stated on this page https://www.internetsecure.com/merchants/showPage.asp?page=XML7

Thanks

I'm getting an error when i try to use this mod. I'm guessing it's probably a setting on the IS side. Can anyone help?**

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

Any idea why when I select and enter credit card information and then select "Confirm the Order" button, the progress bar moves but after about 30-40 secs I get:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

If I select INTERAC Online it goes right to the internetsecure.com page, no problem.

I am still in test mode but I made sure the name on the credit card and the billing name were the same.

Not sure where to turn!! :frusty:

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

So it would seem GoDaddy uses a proxy to send secure cUrl info... had to give that proxy IP to InternetSecure...

BIG shout out to Flipside for time and patience to find and fix this...

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

I installed the InternetSecure module and have the accounts setup and active. However, when I try to submit and order to test it I get the following error message:

Collect card numbers is not allowed - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct any information and try again or contact us for further assistance.

I'm not sure what the problem is and would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Re: Internet Secure Merchant Direct and Interac Online

I love this mod, makes life so much easier!

Thanks a lot.

One question though, for the INTERAC, it sends a confirmation before a customer actually finished paying for the item, how should I change that?
I mean if a customer decides half way through the INTERAC process and decided to change their mind and use credit card, what should they do?

Would really appreciate any help on that.

Thanks!

You have probably already solved this but the issue is that IS has to add the IP address of the server that is sending the authorization request. I had/have the same problem every time GoDaddy changed my dedicated IP address. If you call IS and give them the IP in the error they will add it and it will resolve this.

Danielle did an awesome job with this one. The issue with this is more on the Internet Secure side.
To answer your question you can not change that. While IS offers the ability to return the authorization success/failure, InteracOnline does not. They make you port out to thier site for what they call "security reasons". Because of this, IS has no choice but to return a success to Zen Cart.
I have had the exact scenario as per above. There are a few ways you can handle it.

  1. Delete the order from Zen and ask the customer to re-enter everything into thier cart again
  2. Use the Master Password mod (http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=190) to log in as the user, print out a copy of the order, logged in as the user, add everything to their cart, log out, let the user know you have returned thier purchase to their cart and they can log in and checkout again.
I could not find a way to return the items purchased back to the shopping cart otherwise.
