UPS Shipping Weight Change

The shopping cart page lists the total weight but when the UPS shipping calculator calculates shipping it shows a larger weight. Three pounds are added...0.4lb item is calculated as a 3.4lb item. I don't mind padding the shipping cost but customers would get confused/upset if they see a change in the weight for an order.

That is the TARE weight in the Shipping/Packaging ... that is added to the Shipping Modules themselves ...

You could turn off the display of the weight at the top of the Shipping Estimator and the Shopping Cart ...
