Sorry we do not ship to your area at this time ... ?

Help!
I've had my website a few months now and have been puzzled why some customers have registered and not bought anything. Today I setup a fake account using a similar address to one of them and "bought" an item and had the message "sorry we do not deliver to your area at this time". I can't find anywhere in my control panel to switch this off.
Can anyone please help.
Thanks
Owen

It sounds as if you shipping is not set up for these address locations, as this is not switchable, it is based on your shipping module.

Hi there
Just to expand a bit Scrat's comment because this is not a simple matter.
Step 1.
is that you need to go to admin > Location /Taxes > Zone Definitions and setup the zone(s) your are going to ship to eg in my case I have one (shipping & GST) Zone "Australia"
Step 2.
You now need to add the relevant zones to above Zone definition you have created
click details off the above zone definition and add all relevant zones you are shipping to. In my case this is all zones (states) of Australia
Step 3.
Assign the the Defined zone from step 1 to the shipping modules you use in admin > Modules > Shipping > Module name
In my case I only use Flat Rate and I have assigned Australia as the zone for it

Re: Sorry we do not ship to your area at this time ... ?

Thank you very much. I think I've sorted it now. I'll have to look at the delivery costs to make sure they're ok ( is it easy to alter costs to zones?) but at least now people aren't being sent away.
I think I'd better send out some apologetic emails out!

Thanks again

What if your product is a zip file and your not charging shipping how do you go about getting rid of the problem.

  1. Enable the Free Shipping module so that free-shipping can be provided (otherwise "sorry, we don't ship to your area" will appear).

  2. Ensure that your downloadable products are configured properly:
    https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=71
(remember, if a download is attached to a product, Zen Cart already knows it's virtual and free-shipping ... you don't need to set those switches in the product settings)

Re: Sorry we do not ship to your area at this time ... ?

Hello,
I just updated a month ago to 1.3.7 by installing from scrach and importing database.
It appeared that everything is working, but recently we received complains from Florida and North Corolina "you are not delivering to
St Petersburg, FL" and so on.

I did not have any setup of shipping module, as I have free shipping for all products to all countries.

Where should I look for fix?

Thanks for help
