something wrong with my installtion !!

I've just installed the latest version of ZC, the strange thing is when I tried to open the front page or admin page of the ZC, I came to a strange page with broken links! please check the link :

http://www.arab-broker.com/

Looks like your stylesheet.css isn't being loaded.

Check the path in /includes/configure.php
and /admin/includes/configure.php (there are multiple places to check for the path in this file)

Also check that your stylesheet is located in your template folder.

/includes/templates/yourtemplate/css/stylesheet.css

New installs use the classic template so replace yourtemplate with classic if you haven't changed the template yet.

One problem I see is this:

/home/.whispa/alhakeem2001/arab-broker.com/includes/configure.php

having a folder with .com in name is going to cause you problems. remove the .com and just leave arab-broker.

if anything this should be /home/.whispa/public_html/arab-broker or something similar to that.

I'm not sure I agree. It's perfectly valid to have .com in the folder path ... and it's a fairly common practice in some webhosting server setups.

Your first comment about the stylesheet is valid. In fact there's an FAQ on that topic:

Well, I did everything you said nothing changed, I still can't view my stylesheet neither fixing the broken links! please help ! :frusty:

Stop banging your head on the wall. You'll soon be seeing double code.

OK, is there a way now to re-install the ZC again without deleting the files from the server ?

Ok, what you want to do is copy the existing files to a folder, call it mybackup or something like that.

Unzip the files for a fresh install on your harddrive and copy the zcinstall folder to your store's directory. That folder might still be there if you haven't deleted it from the first installation.

by running the install script you'll be replacing the files anyway. Just so you know why you want to backup your existing files.

Also if you've made any changes to the payment modules make sure you write those down.

Have you added products to the database? If so you'll want to back the database up as well.

What is the actual problem? Maybe we can avoid a reinstall.

It's too late now as I asked the server to clean up everything and I will do it again using the old way I installed my ZC for the first time " One click to Install "..

OK, I'm going to give it one more try and install a fresh version of the ZC 1.3.8! how can I avoid the previous problem! by the way , I'm uploading the files to the server using the build-in FTP within the dreamweaver ! would that be the reason for that problem? And one more thing for those who asked me to remove "com" from /arab-broker.com/ that's impossible because this is supposed to be my "host directory" so have to kept intact .:lamo:

I don't recommend mass-uploading using Dreamweaver. It's great for 1 or 2 files at a time, but not mass folders.
FileZilla handles multiple folders very well, and reliably detects failed uploads and lets you retry those as needed, etc.

OK, I uploaded the ZC 1.3.8 with filezilla and while I am installing the ZC I came to a page with this note :

This could potentially cause you some problems with session handling and possibly even security concerns.

You can work around this by setting an .htaccess parameter such as described here: http://www.olate.com/articles/252, or you could disable it in your PHP.INI if you have access to it.

(You may have to create the .htaccess file if you don't already have one.)

what should I do now, I think I'm following the same path to the previous problem with the .htaccess , as I had quick look to the uploaded folders I discovered that none of the .htaccess has been uploaded to the server !! please help.

In FileZilla, you have a menu across the top: File - Edit - Transfer - Server - Help ...
Click on "Server", then make sure you have a checkmark next to "View Hidden Files". If you don't, click on it to check it.
Now reconnect to your site, and you should see the .htaccess files.

I did what you asked me to do, but I can see the .htaccess files only on my local drive!

Who is your hosting company?
Do they let you set up a custom php.ini file for your account?

My hosting company is Dreamhost , and they have the ZC 1.3.7 as one-click software installation! but for some reason they don't have the latest version !!

Yes ... but do Dreamhost allow you to set up a custom php.ini file? Their support desk will be able to answer that question for you.
