Adding fileds to the contact us form

Hi,

I have searched around and not found a simple step by step instructions bit for adding new fields to the contact us form.

Is there any anywhere?

Or could someone post a thread explaining it all - there seems to have been a lot of people asking with not one clear reply - or am I just not seeing it:lookaroun

I would also like (not as important as the above) to add another page (which I can do) but with the contact us form on (calling it something else like - quote form). I tried this and it didnt work.

Are there step by step instructions for this somewhere too?

I found a thread from a long time ago, and now I have a couple of added fields. However, I'm not sure how to remove the 'required info' parameter. I want the new fields to be optional. So, it seems kinda useless until someone can help out.

I don't remember where the thread was, but do a search on 'contact form' or 'contact' -- it's somewhere over there.
