I'm SOOOO DUMB, Please HELP Newbie!!!

Howdy y'all, I'm feeling awfully dumb today. I'd like to use some of the community modules but I'm not seeing where I need to put these files. Do I copy them into the existing structure in the locations they "need" to go. Such as if the add-on has a script/file in the Admin directory? Or does the entire module just sit in the root of "Shop"???? If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

The module should come with instructions on how to incorporate it in your cart PLUS it should be structured the same as Zen Cart, so if you see a folder called /includes, it goes in your cart's /includes.

And once you install it you may have to go into admin to set it up.

Re: I'm SOOOO DUMB, Please HELP Newbie!!!

When I look into the dist_configure files, the paths and settings are completely different from original configure files. (I've just published my site online) Should I remove them anyway as I think it will help to secure my site?
TIA

The dist_configure files are modified when you installed Zen. You need to change the names to protect the innocent (YOU) dist_configure files to configure.php and change the chmod to 644.

Only do this in admin/includes and catalog/includes.

Please read the FAQ at the top of this page and search the Help section for newbie questions, they are the most helpful.

Cheers!

There are already 2 configure.php files created. Shall I remove them first and then rename those dist_configure files to configure? I think it would be better to remove those confusing dist_configure files instead.

I suppose you can remove the dist_configure files. If you deleted the /zc_install/ folder, it shouldn't matter. You SHOULD NOT delete the configure.php files and replace them with the dist_configure files.
