Confused about Banners

Hi,

I want to add a sidebox which will appear on all pages (right side). I have been searching and reading through the forum and think the best way is to add a banner? Is this right?

If so how do I go about doing this so that it is static and always displayed?

Can I have banners then be a link through to a page?

What do you want that side-box to do? There are several that are already built in ZenCart that may meet your needs too.

I don't use banners, but check around in the admin under tools->banner manager.

Ok...So I used the banner all one and added an image to test and this is what I got

Firstly how do I get the image to display (how do I know what size etc?)

Second - Do I have to have the heading 'Sponsers'? How can I get rid of this?
I want to add a couple of boxes below each other with graphics advertising stuff within the site.

Third - I want to have the order - Shopping cart (at the top on the right), then a banner and then another banner (same size) below that. All static with a click through. How do I change the order of things on the right sideboxes?

I looked this up but couldn't find answers.

Manged to work out the sort order but still cant get rid of heading...

Also I want to add a second banner but what do I call the group? (I deleted the banner groups - so have to start again)

what do I call a new group? say controlled by banner box 2..

Manged to sort it myself with adding this to the css style sheet

You can name your new banner group anything you'd like.

Just FYI, to rename the banner boxes, make a copy of includes/languages/english.php, and at about line 409 you have:

...where you can rename, change the description text, and copy back
to your includes/languages/your_template/english.php.
