1.3.8a paypal ipn

aeolidia:

The return URL set through PayPal is /index.php?main_page=checkout_process, but it looks like what comes through in the log is index.php?main_page=checkout_process&referer=paypal - this is nothing we set up, but looks like something PayPal is appending to the URL.
Is this not what's supposed to happen? Do I have any control over this?
The appending of the referer is normal and supposed to happen.

aeolidia:

We have checked and double checked the settings in the PayPal account, and they're correct (and currently working perfectly on the live 1.3.7 site).
Is the 1.3.8 site you are testing with an upgrade from 1.3.7 or a fresh installation? If it is an upgrade then it would probably be worthwhile doing a clean installation of 1.3.8 in a new directory and database and testing from there. That will show whether it is a problem with the upgrade process or ZC 1.3.8.

If you have done an upgrade then double check that you have uploaded the 1.3.8 version of ipn_main_handler.php into the root of you store and that file file uploaded correctly.

If you run the ipncheck.php file given here...

...what output do you get?

Regards,
Christian.

Re: 1.3.8a paypal ipn

The ipncheck came back fine.

I installed a fresh copy of Zen 1.3.8a on a test server on this same host, and set up PayPal - it's WORKING!

So I must have broken something during the upgrade. I tried uploading the fresh ipn_main_handler.php again, but that didn't do the trick, so I'm going to re-do this upgrade from scratch and see if I can't get it working.

Thanks Christian, you saved me!

Re: 1.3.8a paypal ipn

You're not doing anything wrong.
At the present time, it works like this:
When using PayPal IPN/Website Payments Standard, Zen Cart does not send the cart-contents as part of the PayPal transaction/receipt.
However, if you use PayPal Express Checkout or Website Payments Pro, the details are sent to PayPal, and will show on the PayPal receipt.
