Best way to change the navigation menu to a search box

I want to change the area that says "EZ Pages :: Privacy Notice :: Shared :: Zen Cart" to instead have a search bar so that people can type the product they are searching for. Which PHP file should change? putting in the source code should be pretty trivial as I can copy the code from the existing side nav search box.
Thanks
