Contact Form rejecting Free email accounts

I just installed my Zen Cart shop and I'm having a nightmare with the customer Contact Form.

Here are my settings:

E-Mail Options

Title Value Action
E-Mail Transport Method sendmail
E-Mail Linefeeds LF
Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails false
Send E-Mails true
Email Archiving Active? false
E-Mail Friendly-Errors true
Email Address (Displayed to Contact you) [email protected]
Email Address (sent FROM) [email protected]
Emails must send from known domain? Yes
Email Admin Format? TEXT
Send Copy of Order Confirmation Emails To [email protected]
Send Copy of Create Account Emails To - Status 0
Send Copy of Create Account Emails To [email protected]
Send Copy of Tell a Friend Emails To - Status 0

Send Copy of Admin Orders Status Emails To - Status 0
Send Copy of Admin Orders Status Emails To [email protected]
Send Notice of Pending Reviews Emails To - Status 0
Send Notice of Pending Reviews Emails To [email protected]
Set "Contact Us" Email Dropdown List The Celestial Toymaker [email protected]
Allow Guest To Tell A Friend false
Contact Us - Show Store Name and Address 0
Send Low Stock Emails 0
Send Low Stock Emails To [email protected]
Display "Newsletter Unsubscribe" Link? true
Audience-Select Count Display true
SMTP Email Account Mailbox CT+celestialtoystore.com
SMTP Email Account Password ******
SMTP Email Mail Host mail.celestialtoystore.com
SMTP Email Mail Server Port 25
Convert currencies for Text emails £,£:€,€

What's happening is when I'm testing the Contact Us form, email addresses from paid for mail servers such as 'tobygilbert.com' or 'gallifreyone.com' get through without any problems. Hotamil, Yahoo, AOL, MSN or gmail addresses never seem to make it through. Once or twice, one has slipped through, but as a rule these don't make it through. I've tried all permutations. Sendmail works as does SMTPauth but nothing else works.

Any idea what the problem can be?

Alternatively, can I just remove the form and just place my email address there instead?

Re: Contact Form rejecting Free email accounts

I forgot to mention that Php mail also works and exhibits the same snobbish rejection of free email accounts.

Admin send also works fine.

Perhaps they have a policy to reject mail destined for those kinds of accounts.

I did think of that and checked my hosting cPanel. I even whitelisted the above domains but still no dice. My server is running SpamAssassin and I can't seem to disable it. Maybe that could be the problem?

I send to and receive from those accounts just fine. It's just with the Zen Cart Contact US form I'm having these issues.

Celestial Toymaker:

**Set "Contact Us" Email Dropdown List **The Celestial Toymaker [email protected]

Empty that option ... leave it blank.

Re: Contact Form rejecting Free email accounts

Okay, I'm confused then.

The contact-us form ONLY sends an email address that you supply for it, either as an entry in the pulldown field, which I just asked you to empty, or the Store Owner email address (if the pulldown field is blank).

If you're saying that only the contact-us form is giving you any problems, and that's only when it's sending to a hotmail/yahoo/etc account, ... then ... don't use a hotmail/yahoo/etc account. You have already indicated that you have a non-"free" account to use. Use it.

If the problem is something else, please start over again with explaining exactly what's not working, and what is working.

Ok, I apologise for not making myself clear. Let me restate the problem.

When I test the Contact Us form but putting in for instance, Mr John Smith from [email protected] or [email protected] (or ANY free email account), I don't receive it, even though it says the message has been sent correctly.

However, if I put down Mr John Smith from [email protected] (for example), I receive it.

?

How weird.

Re: Contact Form rejecting Free email accounts

And, using SMTPAUTH method is no better?

If so, then it's your hosting company's mailserver configuration that's blocking it.

You can't control outgoing mail from your cPanel account. SpamAssassin and your other email settings are for incoming mail only.

SMTPAUTH is no different unfortunately. If it's a problem with my server I'll get onto my host.

One thing that strikes me as odd is that I can send via that email account (using Outlook) to free email addresses with no problem. I wonder why it is affecting the Zen Cart Contact form specifically?

I created a contact form using PhpFormGenerator, hosted it on the same server and it tested fine.

Re: Contact Form rejecting Free email accounts

What version of Zen Cart?
Who is your hosting company?
Do you get any error messages, or does the message just never get delivered?
