may I allow letters in "Sort Order"?

Hello,

I would like to use also letters, to fine tune the sorting order, is there a way to make them accepted. My Zen cart does not accept letters in that field..

This would allow to use numbers, which are used in my branch since ever.

The Sort Orders are all numeric ...

You could use:
10, 20, 30 ... etc,

Or something broader:
1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 2000, 2100, etc

to develop a Sort Order with a Patterned grouping ...
