Show all items in Sub-category on Category page ?

Can you show all items in subcategories on the top level category page ?

When you click on DVD you are taken to the DVD page and shown all the DVD sub-categories.
Below you are shown all the New products for December.

Insted of showing the New products, I want it to show is ALL the DVDs that the store has right there.

So the customer has the choice of browsing ALL the DVDs or going into the subcategories if they know what they are looking for.

Why have the subcategories if you want to show all of the products?

Because when someone clicks on something they expect to be shown it....
They may not want to navigate through many subcatigories to find what they are after.

As it is there, if the customer doesnt know what DVD they are after and just want to browse them all they have to go in and out of sub categories and they have to remember what sub-categories they have been through, rather than just browsing through all the DVDs at once.

keeping it simple for the customer is what it is all about....

Kim, Also there are pricing reasons for this way of display.
This way we dont have to sacrifice our control over sales on thees products and can still save our shopper a few clicks.

How can this be done?
