Scheduled Maintenance: Site Down for Maintenance?

I saw this thread elsewhere but I just can't seem to find it.

Is there a way where I can put my site down for maintenance?

By clicking on the "Search" link in the blue header bar near the top of the forum, and entering "maintenance" brings up a number of threads discussing the topic of maintenance.

The eighth one on the list is the one you were probably referring to:
