Admin Template Selection stopped Working

Hi all,

  I have been using ZenCart for about 4 months now and designed a template that has been working until today.   Today I selected the Classic Green template to look at my site before (my template design) and after .   When I went to switched back to my custom template, even though I selected it (and updated the selection) in Admin/Tools/Template Selection and then went to the Layout Boxes Controller to reset the layout to my custom template layout, I am still on the Classic Green template.   I tried again and noticed that after updating the Template Selection to my custom template I still see the Classic Green template name waiting for reset in the Layout Boxes Controller.   

  It appears the Admin template selection is not working. (????)  Any help to make this work again is very much appreciated.  My other option is to reinstall ZenCart but I might need help understanding how to back up the database and then restore it after reinstallation.

   Thanks in advance for any advice that gets me out of this problem.

Check and see if the permissions changed.

If you did not delete anything or move anything then it's there.

Are you trying to change the cart template or the admin template?

Admin -> Tools -> Template Selection -> Edit -> (Choose Template) -> Update -> Voila

When using a Custom Template you must make sure to edit this file:
includes/templates/your_template/template_info.php

Edit this line:
$template_name = 'Custom Template Name';

Upload the file then check in the Template Switcher. You should be able to see your Template Name listed. You can then choose "Edit" to select your Template.

    I am trying to change the cart template.  It appears Template Selection/Edit/Update is not changing the template.  It is stuck on the Classic Green template.

   The info php file is in the directory and appears properly.  In fact, it is showing my jpg file in the Template Selection/Preview so I know the template is fine (and I checked my template's directories and all my custom files are there).

Well, you could upload your new template to the Classic folder like I did BUT you must use the Mirror function on your FTP Program to make sure that you are replacing the images and Style sheet as is and not mixing.

I use Fetch FTP fetchsoftworks.com it has a Mirror function that will search the Web folder on my computer for updated pages, images, etc so that the Web folder online will look exactly like the Web folder on my computer:cool:

OR Open 2 windows on your desktop and copy new-template into Classic folder.
