Can't Login to admin

Hello, i cant login to my admin page.

i installed zen cart and set all the admin username, password and email.
Then i switched out databases with one that was made for me.
I made sure all the info was the same and that my configure.php files were not changed.
i cleared all cookies
i went to myphpadmin, and used the sql query's that i found in the faqs

Howver, i still get the "wrong username or password" login message

is there anything i can do?

Try the resend password link.

If that doens't work you would need to go into phpmyadmin, and find the admin table. Then you need to find the email table, and change it your email so zen-cart can send you the password.

Im not sure how to do that do i go the the phpmyadmin and do something or file the file in the file manager?

The resend password link is on the login screen for the Admin page. If your email address needs updating, you will have to use phpmyadmin to change that value in the database. You'll know if your email is wrong if you click the resend button and you don't get an email in the next couple of minutes.

Log into PHPmyAdmin and open your Zen Cart DB.

In the admin table, find your user name and change the admin_email field for that row to what you need it to be. You can then go back to the admin login page and resend your password, it will go to that new email address.

I have tried this and it keeps telling me I've entered an invalid email address.
Now I'm locked out of my CP :-(

That didn't work either, should I just backup mySQL and run the installer again? That way I can make sure the SSL is off at the same time. :frusty:

If that's not working, then maybe you're pointed to the wrong database in your admin configure.php file?

I had already checked that between the two config files and my phpAdmin and that part was correct.
It seems that by changing the "Store Session" from ' ' to 'db' in both files, I now have access to my site, it warned me of the temporary password and how to fix it and I'm all good again.

I'm guessing something happened when I changed from the Windows server to the Linux server which changed my "DIR_FS_CATALOG" enough to mess me up by not downloading the updated files.

PS, can you help me with my PST issue? It's not adding the PST to the subtotal.

I followed that article, but the when I changed from the Windows server to the Linux server part of the DIR_ name changed since the login also changed.
I know better next time, but I think I'm covered on the Linux server.

I followed that article, but the when I changed from the Windows server to the Linux server part of the DIR_ name changed since the login also changed.The point was that if you do a fresh install on the new server, it will build the appropriate configure.php files for the new server for you ... including all the DIR_ settings.
Then, you preserve those files when moving your old server's files over. Since you preserved the new files, the configuration should work without a hitch for the new server, since they were built for the new server.

I realize that, but what I did was uploaded a file from the old server from my local machine thinking that I had already downloaded the new version. (Which I didn't) so that's where everything went south.

But all is well again.

Any thoughts on the PST issue?
