Hello, I am set up to use PayPal for my 3.7 Zencart. I installed the module and followed the direction in zencart. The problem is that someone can order something and it goes threw Paypal and they get charged and an email from paypal. Now for me I dont get anything! I dont see that they placed an order nor does it add the money to my PayPal account. I also dont recieve a Zencart email. I also have Money Order/Check set up and all that works fine, I get a Zencart email and a status in the admin ect. Please help?

Re: PayPal help

I am having the same problem. I just received an order that didn't show up on my admin page. The only thing I received was the email from Paypal that the order had been paid for. I have no way of knowing what was ordered and paid for. I have emailed the customer but am still awaiting a reply.

I received another order that was not through Paypal and it showed up on the Admin page.

Re: PayPal help

Well after no help from the forum! I think I might have found what I did wrong. The email address I used for the IPN in zencart paypal module had a .net at the end instead of a .com so I wouldnt recieve anything. I hope this helps someone like me when I needed help....:schmoll:

When all else fails, check the obvious ... oh, and don't forget to blame the forum ...

Nevertheless, we're glad you got it working.

Re: PayPal help

Why is it someone always replys to a message that is in direct blame to thier forum but cant reply to someone who needs help? Then make a post that blames the poster..... I didnt post the question untill I have read the forums posts and couldnt find an answer to my issue nor did I see "The Obvious" Sorry for needing help!

Re: PayPal help

We are all volunteers and not on the forum 24/7 and sometimes a post gets missed. Yet, we are expected to answer every post within minutes. Zen Cart is a do-it-yourself type of program, so there are times when you are expected to search the forums, read the docs, try to fix things yourself by re-installing a module or going back through the steps of configuring something to make sure you didn't miss a piece.

And yes, sometimes we get a little cranky over stuff.

Re: PayPal help

Well what really matters is I got it working again and I hope this post helps someone else who needs help! I do appreciate the help that has been given to me in the past. I just get mad because I have been trying to figure this out for over a week by looking at posts and searching for an answer and then asked for help with no luck there eather. Anyway like I said I got it working again and I do appreciate all the people who reply to posts....

I am having this problem too, but my email address is set correctly. Any other suggestions?

I will re-state my problem with a few details.
-new zencart install
-first (test) purchase.

  • $ came out of customer account, customer got email, inventory was subtracted, order shows up in admin area,
-problem: no $ in store paypal account!!

I have checked and re-checked the settings in paypal and zencart. Everything seems right to me!! Obviously something is off...

I just upgraded the paypal account from personal to premier. It is an un-verified account. Could that be the problem??

Re: PayPal help

Another thing I should maybe mention? The site is hosted on GoDaddy so I have the CURL proxy toggle and url setup in My Store configuration. I was getting CURL errors when installing, but the host insists everything is fine on their end.

PayPal status: **Pending unilateral **@ 21:07:54 Mar 15, 2008 PDT

"Pending unilateral" means you specified an email address in your Zen Cart PayPal settings that doesn't match up to an existing PayPal account, and sent money to that address.
PayPal has set the transaction in a pending status waiting for you to reply to an email that they've sent you asking you to create a PayPal account for that address, or to add that address to an existing PayPal account ... before you can collect the funds that are waiting. If you don't respond within a certain number of days, they will refund the transaction automatically.

I have checked and re-checked that address and it is right, but in the paypal account the email address has not been confirmed, apparently. I am hoping this is the problem, and I am getting the client to confirm it right now.

This must have been all it was. It is working now - thanks for your help!
