Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

I did what the other threads say to do to get phpBB links working and now I my website is crashed!! And I can't get it back. Although I made a copy for my configer.php file before added that code, but even though it didn't help please HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP .[
My website link is :
http://www.arab-broker.com/orientalmeal/

I set things as it say in that tutorials but I couldn't show the errors on my browser though! I still have a white black page, but when I went to my catche folder on the server I found 4 error reports which they come with same error :

[10-Jan-2008 03:22:43] PHP Fatal error: Class 'notifier' not found in /home/.whispa/alhakeem2001/arab-broker/orientalmeal/includes/autoload_func.php on line 79

Can you please help me to find out what is missing with me ?

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

You have made so many changes to so many things on your site I can't keep track of what you might have possible broken or where.

Create a new folder: /includes/local/
Add a new file in that folder: /includes/local/configure.php
The contents of that file should be this:```

<?php define('DEBUG_AUTOLOAD',true); define('STRICT_ERROR_REPORTING', true) ?>
Now access your site.
What shows up on the screen?

What it shows up on the screen is just what you will see when you click on the following link:
<http://www.arab-broker.com/orientalmeal/> just an image in left side of a blank page,' NO errors " !!
although I already did that before, but because you told me to do that again. I did it !
I also restored my website and uploaded to the server and still doesn’t work!! It’s really :shocking:weird what’s going on in here ! I didn’t do that much with script though, but the website is dead ! should we always set a new fresh ZC whenever the recent one crash s ? or there must be a way out of this problem ! I’m sorry but I really need support on that ! A 1000000 thanks in advance ..

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

OK, I have a another ZC, I set it as a test website and it has the same problem and I uploaded the file /includes/local/configure.php to the server and it showes this line of error :
Fatal error: Class 'notifier' not found in /home/.whispa/alhakeem2001/arab-broker/oriental2/includes/autoload_func.php on line 79

Please check it your self :
http://www.arab-broker.com/oriental2/

Question :
why I couldn't get this error message on my main ZC ?

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

There is nothing wrong with your autoload_func.php file.
It is only reporting that an error exists because a file it was asked to process couldn't be found.

Does your /includes/local/configure.php file contain the new settings I suggested in my last post?
specifically the DEBUG_AUTOLOAD set to true?

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

If those debug lines are present, then the screen should be filled with details of everything Zen Cart is doing to process files.

Since that information is not showing, then either you are severely missing important files, or your FTP program is not successfully uploading your changes or your files, or you're pointing to the wrong folder, or you have some sort of addon installed that's blocking all the normal operation.

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

How can I know the permission settings on all mine PHP files ? for the first quick glance I checked the /includes/configure.php and it has been set to 444 and the /includes/local/configure.php and it has been set to 777 ! is that enough ? otherwise, can you please specify wich files you want me to check the permission.

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

  1. Install WinMerge
  2. Download a fresh copy of Zen Cart and unzip it to your PC
  3. Use WinMerge to compare your backup files with the master Zen Cart files.
  4. Make note of which files are missing from your backup (ie: only exist on the Zen Cart files)
  5. Upload those missing files to your server.

FAQ: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_-_Diagnosing_Obscure_Issues

And, yes, stay away from Dreamweaver for doing mass uploads/downloads.

OK, should I download the ZC 1.3.8 or the 1.3.8a, the one that I already had ?

Ideally, the one you already had. And then once you get things working, be sure to upgrade to the latest if applicable.

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

OK, I gave up, as I did everything to bring my ZC back but nothing worked with me, so I decided to set a brand new ZC , and I went with the installation following the included documentation till the end with successful ending, and then I had two buttons to chose whether I have to go the admin side of to the front page of my ZC, So I clicked on the front side button: http://www.arab-broker.com/meals/
And a surprise was waiting for me , I couldn't access my front page because of an error, first it didn't show anything, just a blank white page so I put the includes/local/configure.php file in the right location to display the errors on the browser and so it did, and that’s not all even to the admin side I couldn't log in :
http://www.arab-broker.com/meals/admin

Please tell me what to do now, I’m very frustrated!!

Re: Site busted after trying to edit phpBB settings

All the messages you're seeing suggest that your server cannot find all the files.

So, if all the files actually exist on the server, then it must be permissions that are blocking access to them (although usually you'll see a forbidden warning, but you're not seeing that in this case).

Maybe you need to try it on a different server?

Or maybe your FTP program just isn't uploading correctly? Or maybe you're accidentally uploading files as binary instead of ascii? Or maybe it's renaming them to uppercase or something weird?
