Customise product listing for only one category

I'm trying to produce a very simple gallery solution using the Document - General category as Lucky_Starre did here **http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=65389** with a few changes.

Instead of using one product with multiple images, I want a proper description attached to each gallery item, so it makes more sense to me to have a Gallery category that uses the Document - General items for the gallery images. This works beautifully but I want the Product Listing to look different for the Gallery category than for all the shop categories. For instance I don't want the Filters at the top, nor the header showing the titles Product, Price etc.

Is it possible to do this with an if() statement in the PHP somewhere? If so, can someone help me with where to do it? Also, would doing this override the Product Listing settings in the Admin?
