Multiple images not working on 1.3.7

We are trying to implement the use of multiple product images on our web site and so far no dice. I have read many of the other posts, especially

We have also installed IH2 and we still cannot seem to get it working.

I have verified that Catalog - Admin - Product Types - Show Products Additional Images is set to 1

I also saw in another post something about a line that said something about

bof://additional images

When I look at the code on the page for testing one product (80347) before a full implementation I see an bof://additional images and then immediately a line that says eof://additional images. should there not be some sort of code in between?

We also have Zen lightbox installed as a mod and it is working fine. I have tried both manually and with IH2 and get neither to work.
