can't login from homepage

customers cannot login from homepage, they have to go to a product page and login... why is this happening?!?!?: :no:

I think you need to do this:
configurations/Layout Settings/
look for Use split-login page
should be near the bottom of the page.
Click the True then the update button

1 problem.... this has created less sales for us.... because after you click checkout, then they have to click sign up.... instead of being broght straight to signup info.... anyway to get the login on the homepage to work correctly and still have checkout go right to the signup page?

basically I want to change it back to false and have the checkout go straight to form signup

That's not normal behavior. You'll have to analyze all the contributions and addons and customizations that have altered your store from the default code.
