Newsletter being sent in plain text, not HTML

I just tried to send a newsletter, and it shows up as plain text, even though I used HTML, and I know it isn't a problem with me receiving HTML emails. Any reason why this is happening? Thanks.

If you have a customer account in your store using the same email address that you sent your newsletter to, and their account preference is set to use text-only emails, then your newsletter will only send the text-only version to them.

If you have HTML mode turned off, it will only send the text-only version as well.

I sent this one to Admin only just to see what happened first. Since Admin isn't a "customer", I don't have any settings to check to see if they want the newsletter in HTML or text. I don't want to send it to all of my customers before I know if it will show HTML.

The admin email setting for TEXT vs HTML can be changed in Admin->Configuration->Email Options.

If the HTML portion of your emails is getting rejected, then your mailserver is likely stripping it. There are several discussions on the forum about that sort of problem and various workarounds.
Sometimes changing your email transport method can be a help.

I got this figured out. I created a fake customer with the same email address as Administrator and set his newsletter preference to HTML.
