Copyright and Images ???

Hello all,

I want to protect myself against image copyright issues.

Here is my situation. I am a retail store. When I buy wholesale, the website usually has pictures for the products I purchase. Some sites state that images are copyright and others don't, ect.

Does anyone have a sample contract that I could use that states that my business is allowed to use the images from the wholesale site?

They're all copyright, whether it's explicitly stated or not. The wholesaler may or may not own the copyright. Most likely they are licensed by the manufacturer to use the images. So they may or may not have the right to allow you to use the images.

If it's not already covered in their terms of business, the normal process would be to request in writing that they allow you to use the images if they are so allowed, or refer you to the copyright owner.

It's good that you want to cover yourself, but you presenting them with a contract on this would look a bit amateurish.
