My Admin Doesn't Work!!

My Admin Doesn't Work!!

I just finished installing on a XAMPP server and when i go to ..."directory"/admin i get an error that says...

"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log."

Everything i see in the FAQs deal with log in problems.
Please help!

Try disabling the admin htaccess files

Rename .htaccess to htaccess.txt in all places in admin

No...Look for any files in the admin folders named .htaccess

Some ftp programs, such as cuteftp, hide that file by default.

I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

i'm not using an ftp, i'm running a localhost server to test the cart, i just copy my files into the server.

i have no files with that name
Look at your downloaded distribution as these are part of every Zen Cart on LAMP, AMP, XAMP etc

If you are using windows on the local host, windows may hide that file. Make sure you tell windows to show all hidden files.

the only one i find is this
Make sure that you can view hidden files in your file viewer

if still not there get a new download and expand

Try the following:

Open a Terminal window (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app)
Inside the Terminal window, type the command:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder

Now your Finder windows will show all hidden files.
MAKE SURE YOU DON'T DELETE ANY FILE YOU DON'T WANT GONE!

These "dot" files do exist in your MAMP folder.... as was suggested rename them from .htaccess to htaccess.txt

To turn this off, just use the command (within the Terminal.app)

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
killall Finder
