Coupon Restriction by Manufacturer

Can a coupon restriction base on manufactrer than categories?

Only if you make a Category with all the Products for a Manufactuer in it ...

Currently, Coupon Restrictions are based on Category or Product ...

Does that category have to be active? For example if I had a product in category 1 & 2 and I turned 2 off, while the coupon still work for the same product in category 1?

Did anyone figure out how to do this???

I need to restrict the coupons based on manufacturer as I am getting extra discounts on some manufacturer products and I want to pass that on to the customers. I can't limit the coupon per category as I have 2 or more supplier for the same items.

Hei.... Yes it is possible to Set Coupon Base on Manufacture Or Series Or any Type of Category/Subcategory. Its a little bit Difficult Task to Set because you must have to put some code and your login at the function (ie. is_product_valid() function is function_general.php page) in the way you one to validate.

If you willing to set you login base on Manufacture or base on any category, then check the function defination is_product_valid in function_general.php page.

I have my own. my logic/code may no match to you. :wink:

Not sure if you still need this to add Restrictions based on Manufacturer, but I built this into a future release of Zen Cart and finally had a chance to convert it to work with Zen Cart v151 ...

You might test this and see if it works for you ...

Installed this on 1.5.3. Appearing ok in admin but when select manufacturer and click update it shows "Warning an error have occurred and does not save. Any idea how to fix it?

Does not get any error if select single product after selecting manufacturer. Error only happened when select add all products by manufacturer from drop down. Please assist. Thank you!

The files are the same in v151 and v153 and I just dropped them in v153 and so far I am not seeing the error ...

After I create coupon, I click on Restriction which take me to page where it shows option to do restriction by product or category.

Below category it shows OR manufacturer.

From drop down I select a manufacturer then it shows drop down for product name.
If I select product name and changed deny to allow then click on Update it goes successful but if I select Add All manufacturer product

and change deny to allow then update I get error. I post log error above which may help.

yes 1 was english file and second one went to main admin folder. Does log error gives any idea as it saying table missing..
